An Example Of Using Cubi
Say, someone insults you.
- Your body tenses (stress).
- Your emotions go south; you feel shame, anger or both.
- Your mind spins with thoughts and mental pictures of getting even.
- Your will or desire is to run away and avoid the whole thing. Or perhaps you want to lash out and hurt that person.
Instead of automatically lashing out or hiding, do something different! Use Cubi to self-monitor. Observe your reactions and use the tools so you can choose how you prefer to respond.
- Breathe and relax your body.
- Label your emotions and release them appropriately.

- Engage your will to choose an appropriate reaction and respond appropriately
